The masterpiece of Iranian architecture and the beauty of nature in Eram Garden of Shiraz

news agency of aval Fars:  Shiraz, Eram Garden is a beautiful and historic garden in the northwest of Shiraz, located on Eram Street. Its area is 110, 380 square meters and its infrastructure is 1869 square meters, and includes several monuments and botanical gardens. The date of construction and the original founder of the Eram Garden of Shiraz is not well known, but descriptions of it are in the travel logs belonging to the tenth and eleventh century AH.

This garden has been in the days of Seljuk and Al-Injou. During Zandy’s time, Karim Khan Zand tried to build and improve this garden. During the Qajar period, the garden fell to the hands of the Qashqai leaders for 75 years. At this time, a mansion was constructed in this garden, but during the reign of Naser-al-Din Shah Qajar, another mansion was erected by Hussein Ali Khan Nassir al-Malik, which remains so far. The garden has been preserved from the Qajar period.

In 1967, this building was transferred to Shiraz University and now it is at the disposal of this university. During the years 1967 to 1972, major improvements were made in this garden, and a vast land was added on the edge of the current Eram boulevard and the Triple Blvd Blvd. Shiraz University used this collection until the victory of the Islamic Revolution as a university club and after the revolution as a law school and library, and since 1981 it has been used as a botanical garden.

The interior of the Garden of Eram has given it two beautiful things to this place, dating to nearly four centuries. The architectural style of the mansion of this garden is in the style of Qajar era and imitates the style of Zandieh architecture. The mansion is architectural, painting, tile and plastering architectural masterpieces of Qajar era.

This mansion consists of three floors, with many decorations. The under-floor rooms, which are almost basements, are the place to relax on hot summer days. The decorations of these rooms are colorful tiles. The two upper floors have columns inspired by Persepolis.

In terms of fine art of painting, this mansion has not survived. The ceiling of the 2nd floor of the third floor of the building, which is covered with wooden beams and regular boards, has beautiful and very nude paintings

In these paintings, flowers, shrubs and slavic designs and numerous signs from hunters and faces of women and pictures of European-style mansions are shown. The elegant art of painting on the roof of this technology, called the juniper (puppet weight), is quite common in the Qajar period in the city of Shiraz, and even in most small and small houses, it was also used for the first time by the Shirazi professors in important buildings Tehran is commonplace.

Most of the wooden doors are made of teak wood, which has kept its main board over the years. At the top of the Eram Garden, they have created beautiful crests that are termed “Santouri” in the term “local architects” of Fars. These crests are made of colored and taped tiles and are in tile style of Zandieh and Qajar era.

Pictures of Naser-al-Din Shah Qajar, stories from Ferdowsi and military, and ancient Persian literature and tile religious tales have been made on these crests. In front of the masterpiece of the Garden of Eram Garden, overlooking the garden, a large pool has been constructed with a picture of the mansion.

The Eram Garden Basin has been used for a while, but is refurbished in recent repairs and is now half a meter deep. The Eram Garden of Shiraz, along with eight other Iranian gardens, was registered on June 27, 2011 at the thirty-fifth session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, entitled “Persian Gardens” in the World Heritage List.
